Clark County is updating its Comprehensive Growth Management Plan, which will guide housing, jobs, schools, transportation, and community development through 2045. The Building Industry Association of Clark County is collecting feedback from Clark County residents about their values, ideas, and concerns related to the future of our community.
Why Your Input Matters
The Comprehensive Plan will affect where people live, where jobs are located, and how our neighborhoods grow for decades. By participating, you can help ensure the County Council understands our shared livability values:
Families and Schools:
🎒
Neighborhood schools provide quality education, smaller class sizes and safe routes to school for children.
Jobs Close to Home:
💼
Good-paying local jobs that reduce long commutes to Portland with enough employment land identified to attract large employers and new industries to Clark County and encourage small business development.
Affordable Housing Options:
🏠
Opportunities for housing choice and diverse housing options, not just high-density apartments crowded near freeways.
Community Amenities:
🛝
Identify land for housing that can support new parks, recreation opportunities, and services nearby for all residents.
Safe and Efficient Transportation:
🚊
Ensure that long range planning includes access to public transportation, plans to reduce congestion, and keep businesses with significant truck traffic and freight movement situated away from residential neighborhoods.
Environmental Impacts:
🌲
Keep industrial lands separated from housing and watersheds, and prevent situating high density housing near freeways that generate air quality issues for people living nearby.
